Kazakhstan
$2,400 for the Hub for financial and administrative support to the CDC/University of Michigan
Hepatitis Project (Grant Agreement # DHHA PHS C AGMT).
$2,835 for Zhalgas in rental fee from Counterpart International.
Kyrgyzstan
In June, the Hub Office prepared and submitted an amended budget UNHCR to increase contract
03/AB/KGZ/CM/200 (c) by $9,840. The project provides financial support to Chechen asylum
seekers in order to strengthen their self reliance and self sustainability. An increase in funds will
allow 40 families among Chechen asylum seekers to receive small individual grants (equal to
$200) for business start ups or expending existing business. The agreement is expected to be
signed shortly.
Turkmenistan
$300 from INTRAC for Yazgylych Charyev, Counterpart Country Director, to participate in their
Regional Conference held in Bishkek in late April Who Benefits: the Monitoring and
Evaluation of Development Programs in Central Asia
$1,500 from National Council of Economic Education USA for Irina Mukhammedova, Program
Coordinator of the Ashgabat CSSC, to participate in their seminar Training for trainers held in
mid June in Almaty.
