In May the Center in cooperation with local TV station and NGO Khayot the talk show was 

prepared and shoot. At the shooting the CSSC Program Assistant participated. The topic of the 

talk show was Accessibility of the Infrastructure to disabled people. 

In May 2003 negotiation on cooperation with PRAGMA has been conducted. Preliminary 

agreement on cooperation was achieved. 

In May 2003   negotiation with UzBAT on providing training services to the UzBAT staff was 

conducted. 

June 12 13, 2003   the CSSC conducted the first paid training on Communication skills 

development for staff of UzBAT. 

June 28, 2003   the CSSC rendered logistical support to the National Democratic Institute in 

organization of the training. 

Internal Capacity Building 

In June 2003 the Center's Director participated in the first of three training under the program 

Social development analysis conducted in Almaty.  

In June 2003 Program Assistant participated in the training on Avocacy. Network building 

organized by Europe Aid under TASIS project. The CSSC provided logistical support in 

organization of the training. 

Community Outreach 

During the reporting Quarter Evaluation of all the CAG projects has been conducted.

7.  NAMANGAN Civil Society Support Center (Partner) 

Activity Overview 

April 25 the CSSC Coordinator participated in the meeting on Prevention of conflicts and 

Coordination of programs in Fergana Valley conducted in the office of Mercy Corps (Fergana) 

initiated by USAID. 

April 10 the CSSC, in cooperation with NGO Shabnam  and administration of the secondary 

school No.10 of Yangikurganskiy  rayon of namangan Oblast conducted a roundtable on 

Advocacy:  Prevention of the increase in the number of self immolation and crimes among 

teenagers of Yangikurganskiy rayon of Namangan Oblast. Representatives of International 

Organizations, State structures, local authorities, policlinics, schools and mass media participated 

in this event. As the result of the Round Table two programs have been developed: 1) Program of 

events on prevention of the increase in the number of self immolation and crimes among 

teenagers of Yangikurganskiy rayon of Namangan Oblast; 2) Program of conduction of the 

monthly event Children are our future for May 2003. 

June 23 National Democratic Institute conducted training in Namangan city. The CSSC rendered 

assistance in logistics. 

Internal Capacity Building 

In May the premises for the office of the Namangan CSSC has been purchased. In June 

equipment and furniture has been purchased. Repair works are going on. 

In May copy machine for the Resource Center was bought. 

Community Outreach

During the reporting quarter evaluation of all the CAG projects has been conducted 

CAPs developed are: 

In village Mamay of Yangikurganskiy rayon of Namangan Oblast. Initiator   Public 

Association Mamay. 9 people participated. The problem was lack of clean drinking water on 

60
